Rivers of Milwaukee Regatta 2018
Due to last minute cancellation of Head of the Rock, this past Saturday wepacked up and headed to Milwaukee to race some 5ks. There we got the opportunity to race collegiate and club teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota.Racing began on Sunday with the Men’s Open 8+ category. The novice/varsity mixed boat finished with an 18:37:33 time placing them 10th overall. The novice men then raced in the Men’s Novice 8+ finishing with a 20:21:00 time putting them in the 4th place spot.Next up our women’s team got a chance to take on the course. In the Women’s Open 8+, our varsity women finished in 19:22:00 getting them to the 3 rd place spot. In the same category our novice and varsity mixed boat got a time of 22:45:00, finishing 7th . Shortly after a full novice boat of women went out in the Women’s Open Novice 8+ and finished 1st with a time of 23:11:00.We ended the long day of racing with the Men’s Open 4+ and 2- along with the Women’s Open 4+ and 2x. The varsity men finished in 21:26:00 in the Open 4+ getting them 15th overall. The varsity 2- finished in 23:32:00 placing 6th in the Small Boats. The women had two varsity 4+ in the Open 4+ and they came in 8th and 9th place. Illinois B finished with 23:00:00 and Illinois A finished with 23:03:00. Varsity women’s 2x came in 9th with a time of 27:00:00.Quick thank you to all the clubs who organized this event so last minute and to MSOE for accommodating some sleepy rowers. Also a big shout out to all the friends and families who supported us and kept us fueled up. This weekend was tons of fun and we got to show the novices the best part about rowing.
