Illinois Races in Triple-Double Duel in Michigan

The Fighting Illini continued their season at the Don Lubbers Cup in Spring Lake, MI. Each crew raced three races, once each Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, and Sunday Morning. The Women's Novice 4+ had a lot of success against a field of primarily Varsity and Lightweight 4+'s. They pulled out an open water victory in their Saturday Afternoon race. The Men's Novice 8+ had a very competitive day, beating Purdue and Michigan's 2F's, even leading over Michigan State's 1F at the 1000m during their Saturday Morning race. The crew struggled to finish of MSU though and three late race crabs in the chop saw MSU capitalize and pull ahead finishing up one seat.Full results are posted on Row2k: Day 1 & Day 2.
