Illini Indoor Winners Crowned
The 2011 Illini Indoor has come been completed and the winners crowned. While the whole team deserves recognition for some stellar score, four athletes walked away with top honors for their crew.The Novice Men's team, with the deepest field, was lead by Chris Marr. This is Chris' second competition win of the season, bringing him one step closer to the triple crown (we will see come the Chicago Indoor whether he can complete this rare achievement). The Novice Women were lead by Stacey Peters marking her first 2km win of the season. The varsity men were lead by now 2-time hammer winner Michael Roggeman who won the Novice Men's category in 2010. Finally, Varsity Women's athlete Tiernan Evans captured victory and a personal best, boding well going into the Chicago Indoor later this month.The event was completed by the 4x500m relay, with the team of Devon Loftus, Chris Marr, Ana Ramirez, and Eric Xia taking home top honors and the relay wrenches.Congrats to all athletes who came out and put in some great scores, and keep up the good work. The Chicago Indoor is next at the end of the month.
