Bill Grier Takes Over as Head Coach and Program Director

Effective July 1st, Bill Grier has taken over as Head Coach and Program Director for the Men's and Women's Rowing Clubs at the University of Illinois. Coach Grier, who took over the role of Men's Head Coach at the start of the 2014-2015 season, replaces Erik Kroeker who retired after 8 years with the program at the end of last season. Coach Grier brings a deep background in training program design and the experience gained in his three previous seasons with the team.Coach Grier is joined by Coach Michelle Victora and Coach Noel Naughton who will be taking over the positions of Novice Women's and Novice Men's Coaches respectively. Both coaches come from collegiate rowing backgrounds and served as Assistant Coaches with the team during the 2014-2015 season.The Alumni Organization and Student Board are excited to welcome these coaches to their new roles and look forward to success the team will experience under their leadership in the months and years to come.
