Select Athletes to Represent Illinois at St. Louis Indoor Rowing Championships

A handful of University of Illinois rowers will travel to St. Louis to compete in the St. Louis Indoor Rowing Championships hosted by Washington University. The Illini will compete against some of their rivals from across the Midwest in the first 2km indoor race of the season. The race will be conducted on ergometers (rowing machines) linked together so athletes can race head-to-head with their competitors. Medals will go to the fastest entrants in each event.While Illinois has never sent the whole team to this event, the athletes who have attended have done very well. Each year, athletes from the University of Illinois have medalled. Men's Team Captain Chris Marr will look to replicate his Gold Medal performance from last year at the competition, as he leads a squad of Novice Illini Rowers against the field.We will be providing updates and results throughout the weekend as they happen.
