Help Illini Rowing Support the Wesley Evening Food Pantry
Wednesday January 25th from 8am - 5pm, the Fighting Illini Rowers will be rowing behind the Union on the north end of the Main Squad to help out the Wesley Evening Food Pantry. The team will be collecting money from hot chocolate and baked good sales as well as any donations to help the Wesley Evening Food Pantry, a food pantry that has evening hours to accommodate people who have work and school responsibilities.Since it opened in 2006, the Wesley Evening Food Pantry has provided a week’s worth of groceries to thousands of people in Champaign County. In 2009 and 2010, they served over 10,000 people each year. Their membership in the Eastern Illinois Foodbank makes it possible to feed each person for a week for only $6.50. To continue this important work, they need your financial support. If every person who reads this commits to feeding one person a month, it would be easy.Help the Illini Rowing Team help the Wesley Evening Food Pantry through your donations on the Quad this coming Wednesday. No matter the weather, we will be pulling for them, so please help us help them through your donations.
