Fighting Illini Close out Season with Big Wins at WashU

The Fighting Illini captured 1st in the Novice Women's 4+ and the Novice Men's 8+ over rivals WashU, SLU, and Mizzou this past Sunday. The Illini were able to secure 3rd and 4th in the Men's Varsity 4+ right behind WashU, and ahead of SLU and St. Louis Rowing Club. The crew finished the day coming in 3rd in a friendly Mixed Novice 8+ to finish off a great Fall season. The Novice Women end their season having only fallen to Marquette in Club competition, while the Novice Men were able to open up a sizable lead on the field heading into winter. The Varsity will continue in the quest over Winter to topple WashU in the Spring on their way to the American Collegiate Championships in May.For full Illini results and writeups, check the regatta page and check back with the team throughout the Winter.
