Ergathon: Five Hours Remain!
High wind, frigid conditions, and periodic snowfall can’t stop Illini Rowing; Ergathon is in full swing! Now that we’re just past hour 19, we can look back at the incredible progress we have made thus far.
Finishing up the first shift, Marathon group 1 shows the distance progress bar.
Eager to see how many meters he can complete, Elias Fabian sits ready to start his first Ergathon shift.
Day one we made it 54% of the way to ACRA, located in Oakridge, TN! The 442,000 meters completed on day one notably include four 2ks, 1 half-marathon, and seven full marathons. We additionally supplemented our earnings through the most festive way we know how, sales of hot chocolate and candy canes! Documenting our journey, WCIA 3 paid us a visit to cover our event on the 7:00 news. If interested, you can read about it here.
Commemorating the event, Cynthia Daili completes her first ever 2k.
Through wind gusts above 30 mph, our team showed incredible determination and brought the total up to 657,089 meters so far! With these five hours left, help us reach our goal of $25,000! Check out our boathouse campaign to learn more about our goals and make sure to donate through rally up!
